About Us

A Brief Description

Our fantastic observatory lies in the heart of Salford offering everyone the opportunity to get to grips with the Universe!

The observatory houses a magnificent 18.5’’ reflector telescope which was donated to the people of Salford from Jodrell Bank Observatory in 1961.

Salford Astronomical Society is run by a group of volunteers, including amateurs and enthusiasts, that all have one thing in common. A passion for astronomy.
